Guilty Pleasures

Dollar - Hand Held In Black And White
August 1981
_________

Two airbrushed and windblown pop tarts, Thereza Bazar & David Van Day. Pure cheese perfection. I love cheese. A cracking good pop tune, written and produced by Trevor Horn, with assistance from Bruce Woolley. This was the song that got Trev noticed by ABC. He of course went on to conquer the charts of the '80s and into the '90s, both as producer (ABC/Frankie/Seal) and as artist (Buggles/Art of Noise). But this shiny plastic artifact lingers in my mind. I was enthralled by it's epic-ness. All of Trev's soon to be signature sounds are here, in service of Dollar. They were lucky to have him.
