Drone of The Day - Sinkane

Sinkane - Apache BeatThis delightful tune landed in my inbox today. Sinkane is drummer Ahmed Gallab. He has played with Caribou, of Montreal and Born Ruffians. In his solo guise he creates psychedelic music "filled with African blues guitar, kraut rock rhythms, free jazz horns, and a Spacemen 3-esque ambience, a journey full of drones, repetition, and bombastic percussion." I had no idea. I must say that Apache Beat is a glorious bit of Krautrock grooviness with a blistering feedback fest at the end. His new album Sinkane is out July 11th on Emergency Umbrella Records. I look forward to hearing the rest of it!
